2013 Liberty League Football Awards:

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Steven Webb, Sr., RB, Hobart College
*

Hobart College senior running back Steven Webb was the unanimous choice of the Liberty League coaches as Offensive Player of the Year. Webb led the league in scoring, all-purpose yards and yards per carry while ranking second in rushing yards per game and total rushing yards. He broke the Hobart career records for rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns and points. Webb's 17 rushing touchdowns through the regular season are third most by a Statesman in a season. Selected Liberty League offensive performer of the week twice, Webb rushed for at least 90 yards in all nine regular-season games, including six games of at least 100 yards.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Tyre Coleman, Jr., DE, Hobart College

Hobart College junior defensive end Tyre Coleman was a repeat selection as Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year. Coleman currently leads Hobart in both tackles for loss and sacks. The leader of a Statesmen defense that ranks first in the Liberty League in scoring defense, total defense and rushing defense, Coleman broke the Hobart career sacks record in just 27 games (currently has 36.5). He also ranks second in career tackles for loss (59.5) behind only teammate Devin Worthington. Coleman recorded two of the league-low three sacks allowed by St. Lawrence this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
Andrew Franks, Jr., K/P, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute junior Andrew Franks was selected as Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Year. Franks connected on 9 of his 11 field goal attempts (81.8 percent) while leading all kickers in scoring during the regular season with 53 points. He was 5-for-7 from 40 yards and beyond while also tying his own school record with a 50-yard field goal. On kickoffs, Franks averaged 63.3 yards per kickoff with a league-high 20 touchbacks. He also handled the punting duties this year for the first time, averaging 36.1 yards per punt. Franks dropped 19 punts inside the opposing team's 20-yard line while recording just two touchbacks.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR:
Alec Dietsch, Fr., LB, St. Lawrence University

St. Lawrence University freshman linebacker Alec Dietsch was selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Year. Dietsch was part of the Liberty League's most improved defense this season. As a team, St. Lawrence allowed just 16.4 points and 303.9 yards per game, ranking second and third respectively in those two categories. Individually, Dietsch ranked third in the Liberty League in total tackles with 81 and fourth in tackles per game with 8.1. He also intercepted three passes, which was tied for the second-highest total in the league. Dietsch earned Liberty League rookie of the week honors on two occasions this past season.

Hobart head coach Mike Cragg and his staff led the Statesmen to a ninthLiberty League championship and an eighth NCAA Playoff appearance. Hobart recorded its second straight undefeated regular season, third straight Liberty League championship and third straight NCAA Division III Playoff appearance. The Statesmen led the league in scoring offense, scoring defense, total defense, rushing defense, passing efficiency, kickoff coverage, opponent third down percentage, red zone offense and red zone defense.
